Recycling Center/Transfer Station Hours: 
Wednesdays 4pm – 7pm
Saturdays & Sundays 9am – 1pm

Holiday Closures: 
Easter – Sunday, March 31, 2024
Christmas – Wednesday, December 25, 2024

Starting June 26, 2024, NEW Transfer Station/Recycling Center permit stickers will be issued at the Transfer Station/Recycling Center ONLY. Town Hall will no longer be issuing permit stickers.
Admission to the facility is by permit only. Only one permit per valid proof of residency. Multiple permits will not be issued, no exception.

  • While recycling in the Town of Strafford is not mandatory, the Town strongly encourages residents to recycle any and all recyclable materials. 
  • Recycling not only keeps unnecessary waste out of landfills, it saves tax dollars.
  • We would also like to remind everyone that if you are running a business, you should make arrangements for commercial trash disposal.
  • The Transfer Center is only for residential trash disposal.

HAZARDOUS MATERIAL INFORMATION Household Hazardous wastes including (but not limited to) turpentine, oil based paints, cleaning fluids, caustics, poisons, and pesticides are NOT accepted at the Transfer Station. Note that Roof Shingles and Used Motor Oil are NOT ACCEPTED. Please refer back to this site for the next Hazardous Waste Disposal Day at Turnkey Landfill in Rochester.
