NOTICE: UPDATE ON RECYCLING CENTER HOURS; SUNDAY RESTRICTION

1) Based on feedback received from residents, there will be no change to the Recycling Center schedule as previously identified on the Town website (closed Sunday; open Tuesday). Current Recycling Center days/hours will continue.

2) Due to a staffing shortage, the Strafford Transfer Station will be under reduced operations on Sundays beginning June 5th. Only trash and recyclables will be accepted on Sundays; no demo, metals, tires, electronics, etc., and the swap-shop will not be open. Wednesday and Saturday operations remain the same. The Selectmen will address this restriction if the staffing shortage is resolved. Please contact the Selectmen’s office with any questions.

Wednesday  4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Saturday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Sunday  9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Certain items incur additional costs for disposal. A nominal fee is charged to cover the expense to the Town for these items. Please see an attendant at the station before depositing the following:

Mattresses/boxsprings$10.00 ea.
Sofas$10.00 ea.
Stuffed chairs$ 5.00 ea.
Computer monitors$10.00 ea.

Washers/dryers$15.00 ea.
Refrigerators & freezers$20.00 ea.

HAZARDOUS MATERIAL INFORMATION

Household Hazardous wastes including (but not limited to) turpentine, oil based paints, cleaning fluids, caustics, poisons, and pesticides are NOT accepted at the Transfer Station. Note that Roof Shingles and Used Motor Oil are NOT ACCEPTED.
