The Town Clerk and Deputy Clerk are authorized by NH Secretary of State – Vital Record Department to issue NH Marriage Licenses.
To obtain a NH Marriage License both parties must appear in person.
No appointment needed.
A NH Marriage License is valid for 90 days.
Please Bring:
- Photo ID (driver’s license or passport)
- If this is not your first marriage, the original copy of the latest occurrence of death, annulment or divorce
- $50 to get a marriage license
There is no longer a waiting period after getting a marriage license. You can get a license and get married the same day.
Marriage Certificates are not automatically sent to you. Your certificate will be ready to print as soon as your wedding officiant completes and returns the license to the Clerk. Then you may apply for the Marriage Certificate (Vital Record). See Vital Records for more Information.
