To obtain a NH Marriage License both parities must appear in person at the Town Clerk’s Office.
Calling for an appointment is requested.
A NH Marriage License is valid for 90 days.
Please Bring:
- Photo ID (driver’s license or passport)
- If this is not your first marriage, the original copy of the latest occurrence of death, annulment or divorce
- $50 to get a marriage license
There is no longer a waiting period after getting a marriage license. You can get a license and get married the same day.
We have a Justice of the Peace available on staff by appointment only.

Marriage Certificates are not automatically sent to you. You must purchase them at the Town Clerk’s office. Your certificate will be ready to print as soon as your wedding officiant completes and returns the license to the Clerk. See Vital Records for more Information.
